Love and Happiness

My first point, happiness. I define happiness as ephemeral content with current thoughts and emotions. This being said, my mind is constantly bombarded with negative thoughts. I will never be happy but that's okay. I have to learn to deal with it or I would go completely insane.

Now, Love. I have such a fluctuating opinion on love. It changes just about every second. The more I think about it, the more confused I make myself. Sometimes, I'm not sure if I ever want love. I don't know if I can take the pain that it brings. But other times, I want there to be a person that loves me and would do anything for me, and me for them. If love turned out to be how romantic it looks in the movies maybe then it would be worth the bad times. I just don't think that's how it works. I want someone who can make me feel good about myself all the time, I just don't think they exist. So for now, I'll just be alone. I don't date.

You Are My Quiet Forest ~ Dakota Wint poem

I want you in the blue black of a quiet forest.
I want your quiet moon and starry eyes.
I want you in a way only a train wreck would understand.
It'll be so sad.
But sad has always been our idea of beautiful.
I want to be the paramedics that find us laying there together.
And if I lose you along the way,
I promise,
Oh my god, i promise.
I will use my afterlife to search for you desperately.
I'll come back as a firefly.
So, on a lonely summer night, when your incompleteness grows like a flower,
And you're ready to give up...
We'll find each other again.
And you won't.
I'll land gently into your hand, like I used to.
To remind you that, "Hey, the world's beautiful sometimes"
I will help you shine, and you'll hold me like the universe was made for us to have that moment.
You won't know why when it happens but...
You'll remember what's it's like to die for somebody you love.

Please Die With Me ~ Dakota Wint poem

Dance with me at the end of the world.
The sky is crashing,
The streets are on fire,
Everyone is going crazy but...
Not us.
We're just looking (staring) at each other.
With that look in our eyes like...
We knew it all along.
Armageddon is our soundtrack, and the last song is the best.
So grab my hand and...
Please die with me?
It'll be so beautiful, I promise.

I Hope You Think of Me ~Dakota Wint poem

I wanted to be the one to show you the world,
I wanted to take you the Eiffel Tower in Paris
Or kiss you under a moonlit Rome.
Like the things that happened in the Colosseum,
I wanted to rip you apart in the most poetic way.
I wanted to go snorkeling in Aruba,
I wanted to see the coral beneath our feet.
Everywhere I wanted to be, I wanted to be there with you.
I wanted it to be so that no matter what, every time you saw an airplane, you'd think of me.
Or anytime you'd see the moon reflect in someone else's eyes.
Whenever you found yourself driving through a neighborhood full of mansions
Just to plan out your dream life, I hope you think of me.
Because I remember waking up next to you and the way the sunlight would hit your face,
And floating dust speckled around you.
I just wanted to drown in your presence.
You were like a beautiful still in a moving world.
Time seemed to slow down whenever you were near me.
If you've ever been in a car accident or a near-death experience, you know what I mean.
It's a beautiful bliss where time stops and you're shown your life.
All the bad choices that led you to this moment.
In a weird way, you're kinda the reason I don't regret anything in life.
I remember when we were upstairs and you told me that you wanted to die.
You were beautiful in the saddest way.
To let someone see who you really are,
To be real for just once in your life.
You put your mask down and looked at me with your heart through watery eyes.
We could talk for hours about how terrible things happen to good people.
But one thing I learned from you is that even sunflowers don't last forever,
They show up for a little while as the seasons change, to remind you that...
Hey, the world's beautiful sometimes,
And then they go.
Just like when we promised forever, I didn't think it'd come so soon.
I prided myself on being able to make you smile when things would get bad.
Of course, I was usually the reason they were bad but...
We didn't makes sense, but we didn't have to.
Like a statue of our waxed hands fallen and morphed from aging.
I remember you told me that you felt me slipping through your fingers.
I laughed and said "The only thing slipping through your fingers is mine."
But you were right, the weight of the world pulled me right though.
So whenever you feel sad, just look at your wrist.
Every pissed off morning you'd have to wake up before my parents caught you sleeping over.
Every Slurpee I brought to your cosmetology school.
And every time you'd sneak over and sleep instead of going to class.
And you bleached my hair orange, and you ruined all of our pillows when you dyed your hair red.
How we could watch Harry Potter and Twilight on repeat.
When I ate a weed chocolate bar and freaked out.
Every time you'd storm out the front door
And how funny it was that you ended up kissing me 5 minutes after.
That time you slapped me, or like the first time I saw you walking towards me.
Or how you were obsessed with taking pregnancy tests.
Or how we lost a little version of ourselves.
Whenever you look at your wrist,
I hope you think of me,
And I hope you think about everything that we used to be.
I hope you think of me forever.

Stay Happy ~ Dakota Wint poem

I was thinking today that
We're all going to die one day,
And I was thinking of all the things that I take for granted.
And sometimes I forget how blessed I am.
And I just wanted to say that if you're ever feeling down,
Truly take a moment out of your day to think of everything you cherish,
Go squeeze someone you love,
Put your heart and soul into that hug and don't let you until you both can't breath.
Go make a friend with someone completely random.
Hold the door open for someone,
And if they don't even acknowledge you, just smile.
Never stop smiling.
And if you're ever feeling lost, take a chance.
If you've got nowhere to go, any road will get you there.
Dance and sing like no one's watching.
If you like someone, tell them.
Laugh at the stupid jokes only you and your best friend find funny.
Laugh until your stomach hurts.
And if you've ever mean to anyone and never got the chance to say sorry, apologize.
Life's too short to waste your time being a jerk.
And if people are mean to you for no reason, screw em.
Be yourself because no one else can be it.
And if you want to cry, cry.
Let it out.
Expectation is the root of all heartache.
The best thing to do is just stop thinking, and to just let things happen.
And if the world ever makes you feel small,
Look up at the stars and know someone, somewhere is doing the same thing.
And just because today might have been a terrible day,
Doesn't mean that tomorrow won't be the best day of your entire life.
You just have to wake up and get there.
We learn from experience that we never really learn anything from experience.
You never know what's going to happen.
And that's the thing about life,
You just have to breath every moment in like it's your last.
And never look back, and never regret.
And always stay happy.

Sincerely Yours ~ Dakota Wint poem

Love
At this moment there are seven billion people in the world,
And some of them are deep asleep escaping reality,
And some of them are falling apart searching desperately for what only few truly find,
And some of them want to feel to know that they're still alive.
I will always remember the summer that I fell in love.
The leaves were full of life,
And the flowers were fully bloomed,
And perfume was blowing swiftly towards.
I never believed in love at first sight,
But there you were.
I will always remember the warmness in your eyes,
The smile that would light my world, and the fire inside.
The empty nights wondering if you're deep asleep
And wondering what love really is.
Love is realizing you're not perfect,
And that the world isn't perfect.
But in the midst of all the chaos, you find someone just as imperfect and just as scared as you.
It's those tired and sleepless nights after hours fighting and waking up in each other's arms like nothing happened.
I will never understand what it is inside all of us that makes us fight so hard for something that hurts so much.
Love is a bittersweet pain, a constant reminder of content sadness,
A curse we're all blessed with, it's beautiful and ugly.
You know, they say time heals everything.
And love and the heart have a habit of waiting around for something it's never going to find.
And love is the music found in a silent night,
It's the first thought in the morning.
What is it that motivates us to keep going?
Is it the same force that keeps us wishing we were somewhere in the past?
You know, it's funny that it's the little things you remember
How perfect your finger fit between theirs,
And their goofy laugh,
A kiss at every red light.
It's funny that there's 7 billion people in the world
And it's you, it's you that I will always remember and always cherish
And hold close and dear to my heart.
I know it wasn't perfect, but we gave it our best.
It might be too late to tell you all of this,
But I miss being wrapped in your arms.
I miss the feeling that there was no place else in the entire universe that I would rather be.
The feeling like I belong there.
And I find strength in the thought that you miss me too,
And that our hearts are still connected.
I like to think there's a place where all of our plans and promises we made are still alive.
And every now and then I'll close my eyes and take a walk down memory lane
And hope to see you there.
Even though you've moved away and moved on,
You'll still always be the best of me.
You taught me how to love
And you will always be my shooting star at night,
The sunrise through my blinds,
The lullaby that helps me fall asleep.
You will always be my summer,
And you will always be my love.
Sincerely yours,

My Dearest Sunflower ~ Dakota Wint poem

I want to be the wind that sweeps you off your feet,
I want to be the melody that you hum before you fall asleep,
The cliff that makes you fall in love.
I want to be the wave that pulls you under.
Know I don't have much to give, but I'm hoping my heart is enough.
I told her that she reminded me of a summer sunflower.
Lovely and beautiful.
She smiled.
Her smile was like the sun to me,
Lighting my world in the way I needed it to survive.
I miss her even when I'm next to her, and I love her more with every second.
Forever used to seem like a silly idea to me before I met her.
But if there's one thing I know now,
Out of all the uncertainty and out of all the fucked up things in the world,
Is that forever isn't long enough, with you
But it's the best we have.
So as for forever,
I'll see you there.
